PROFILE

Mr. McFetridge is a litigation lawyer specializing in family law; real estate law, latent defects and landlord-tenant law (Rental Board — Régie du logement).

His past experience working for the Ministry of the Attorney General in British Columbia as a Family Court Counsellor and as a Probation Officer gave good training in resolving personal conflicts and in arriving at practical solutions. One of his functions as a Family Court Counsellor was to give recommendations to the Court with respect to the custody of children in family cases. Also, his past experience as a real estate agent is an asset when dealing with real estate and latent defect cases.

Mr. McFetridge gives prompt, personal and efficient service to arrive at the best solution possible to a problem. He attempts to settle cases amicably between the parties, but if necessary, he is prepared to fight in court to protect his client’s interests.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Victoria in 1971; his Bachelor of Common Law degree at McGill University in 1982 (LL.B) and his Bachelor of Civil Law degree at McGill University in 1983 (B.C.L). He is a member of the Quebec Bar since 1984. He is also a member of the Association des avocats et avocates en droit familial du Québec.
